The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. has announced its choice of Redemtech, a world leader in IT asset disposition and Technology Change Management services to handle its electronic waste initiatives. Redemtech will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s “comprehensive asset recovery and disposition program designed to keep PBG electronic equipment from entering the waste stream”.
“With e-waste becoming an increasingly important environmental issue, more companies today are realizing they can be part of the solution rather than the problem,” said Robert Houghton, president and CEO of Redemtech. “The Pepsi Bottling Group has demonstrated a serious commitment to promoting environmental sustainability throughout its business, and we are excited to be partnering with them as the company’s single-source asset disposition provider.”
PBG’s goals for this program include:
Reducing environmental impacts by properly disposing PBG electronic assets
Ensuring no PBG e-waste will be landfilled, exported, incinerated or handled by prison labor
Increasing return on investment for PBG decommissioned assets
Measuring the successes of PBG’s e-waste efforts
Meeting all legal and environmental compliance regulations
“PBG has always viewed the communities in which we do business as being among our company’s most important stakeholders. As such, we are committed to meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations,” said John Burns, PBG’s Director of Environmental Management. “We look forward to working with Redemtech as we continue to advance our environmental sustainability agenda.”
