British based New Earth Solutions Limited, a waste treatment and resource recovery company, has teamed up with Isle of Man-based The Premier Group, an investment fund provider, to launch a fund which will be used to invest in NES’s recycling and waste management facilities throughout the UK.
This will be the UK’s first recycling and composting fund launched to attract retail investors. NES has stated that “strict landfill diversion targets for local authorities combined with economic incentives for resource recovery and sustainable energy generation presented significant opportunities to waste management companies and the investment community”.
The fund will invest in the existing sites as well as 50 new plants valued at £10 million over the next few years.
Financial Director of NES, Adrian Jones, has said, “The Fund will help accelerate the development of sustainable waste management practices in the UK. It will enable New Earth Solutions Limited to continue the roll out of its advanced waste treatment facilities, assisting the UK in meeting statutory recycling and landfill diversion targets.”
