Lancaster Boys Boxing Club Receives Help from Mopay

Lancaster-based mobile phone recycling company mopay.co.uk has made a big difference in a future boxer’s life. Thanks to the mobile phone recycling firm, local boxing prodigy, Patrick Miller will be able to take part in - and hopefully win - the European Youth Championships being held in Serbia from July 20 to 26.

Mopay.co.uk stepped up to sponsor the Lancaster Boys Boxing Club after attending a boxing match in May. Patrick Miller was one of the featured athletes.

Mopay.co.uk Director Craig Smith and Sales Manager Raff Latif were shocked to learn that there was a severe lack of equipment which could prevent the talented boxers from practicing and competing. It was common for the boxers to have to share during competitions. After witnessing this sad scene, the company introduced a mobile phone recycling scheme to help raise funds for the kids.

Craig Smith, director of mopay.co.uk said: “Raff and I were stunned to understand how limited the club’s equipment is. With so much talent at the club we immediately wanted to help them and after speaking to the club secretary Bob Howard after the fight we agreed to sponsor them moving forwards.”

Bob Howard for the boys boxing club said: “We’re really pleased that mopay.co.uk has decided to sponsor our club and introduce a mobile phone recycling initiative.

“If we encourage our fighters and their family and friends to recycle phones at the club then we could generate some good funding to help purchase new equipment and facilitate the place better,” he added.
