Time to Get Recharged

Once again the RechargExpo was held in Singapore, with companies from all over the world attending the exposition of products and services by inkjet cartridge manufacturers, raw material producers, distributors, dealers, and buyers of compatible supplies. Representatives came from Australia, Europe, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, the Middle East, the United States, and more. It gives people an opportunity to network, share ideas and discuss perspectives on the imaging industry.

Singapore is a considered to be an ideal destination for many reasons: It is a clean, safe location where residents speak both Chinese and English. Singapore is the world’s largest port and the world’s fourth largest foreign exchange trading center after New York, London, and Tokyo.

Senior industry analyst John Shane, a Director of Massachusetts based InfoTrends was supportive of the location choice. “The Singapore location is quite good,” Shane said, “because it is central to the Australia-Asia-Pacific region. Ease of travel into, out of, and within Singapore, its new facilities, modern roadways, and safe streets make the city-state an attractive venue for people coming from North America, Europe, or the Middle East. And common use of English gives Singapore special appeal to Westerners, from a business point of view.”

Two such events have been held this year, the first one being held in California. RechargExpo USA had an eastern feel, calling itself “The Asian Connection. This event was intended to link U.S. manufacturers to Asian cartridge remanufacturers, allowing the counterparts to become acquainted and conduct business.
