It won’t be long before children are being sent back to school. Naturally with school comes education, and an abundance of fund-raising schemes. Many people are curious about what kind of fund-raising schemes they can use in order to raise much-needed funds for their schools. Recycling schemes are the perfect answer.
Many schools already offer recycling programmes for staff and children. However, the children may take recycling efforts out into the community to earn funds. There are a large number of items that can be recycled from ink cartridges, mobile phones, old computers, paper, CD/DVD, plastic, and cardboard. While the kids are out collecting recyclable items, they can also take the opportunity to educate the community about how small actions can make a huge difference.
There are many items around the house, which can be donated to this type of fund-raising scheme. Probably the most common are ink cartridges and waste paper. Ink cartridges are incredibly easy to recycle. Many stores, such as Staples and OfficeMax, have recycling drop-off bins or mail order envelopes that can be used to send these cartridges to the company’s manufacturing facility for refilling or disposal. For each cartridge that is sent or dropped off, there is a payment - usually three dollars.
Paper, cardboard and aluminum cans are also great items to collect for recycling, although volume is the key to making a significant amount of money. It may be wise to contact your local waste provider to see if they would be able to donate bins to hold the items until they were ready to be recycled. Most companies have community programmes and are eager to help.
