Sims Recycling Solutions is the electrical waste recycling division of the Metal recycling giant, the Sims Group.
Graham Davy has been promoted as global chief executive of the Recycling Solutions. He will also be chief executive of the whole of the Sims group in Europe.
Group chief executive of Sims Group said that “Graham has been responsible for Sims recycling solutions’ global business since it formation in 2002 and has overseen its growth to become the worlds leading recycler.
He added that “As our European recycling solutions business matures and end of life product streams merge, the new structure delivers a logical platform for the future development of the business.
Other promotions within the company see Hans Otto Hagemann in the role of managing director for Sims Recycling Solutions in Continental Europe and Tom Bird becoming the managing director for Sims Group UK. He will oversee all of the company’s operations in the United Kingdom.
Sims Group operates from around 130 sites throughout the world and recycles nine million tonnes of metal on a yearly basis. It is this impressive record that has made them one of the largest metal recycling companies in the world.
Within the United Kingdom, Sims is second only to European Metals Recycling, and recycles non ferrous and ferrous metals.
Mr Graham Davy joined Sims in the year 2000. This was following the acquisition of Philip Services’ UK metals recycling business.
Mr Davey said that is was great news that the senior team at Sims was being strengthened with the recent promotions.
