There are a wide number of charities, schools, and fundraising organisations that are trying to raise money through the recycling of mobile phones, ink cartridges and the like. Although recycling has been in the news for many years, many people are starting to realise what a positive impact even the smallest gesture can make. The amount of refuse that is deposited in landfills each year shows how something so small can add up to something so big.
With this in mind, PetSmart, the pet superstore, has established a new programme called Cash For Critters. The programme is quite simple: Recycling your mobile phones and ink cartridges can help save a homeless pet’s life. Each PetSmart store features a PetSmart Charities Recycle for Life recycling display complete with free postage paid pre-addressed envelopes. You simply take the item you wish to recycle, pop it into the envelope and put it into the post. PetSmart Charities will receive a $2 -$15 donation for every phone or cartridge recycled through this programme.
Also available for purchase through PetSmart are recycled and refilled ink cartridges and ink laser cartridges. For every cartridge sold, PetSmart Charities will receive a $2-5 charitable contribution. Saving lives and helping the environment! What could be better?
For businesses and individuals who wish to donate large quantities, arrangements can be made through the company. Details are also available at petsmart.com.
