Littlewoods, a popular shopping network, has partnered with the Mobile Phone Xchange (MPX) in order to extend the company’s network of recycling stations for mobile phones across the UK.
Customers at Littlewoods will now be able to trade in their used mobile phones and have them recycled. All Littlewoods online stores will now offer the service which is already proving to be extremely popular.
The scheme allows customers to recycle their old phones and receive money in return. Depending on the mobile phone, trade ins can be for as much as £150. Compared to many other schemes which offer a flat trade-in rate of £10, the MPX rate is quite generous.
At the online store, customers enter in their model of phone and are given a quote for its trade in value. They are then sent out a postage paid envelope to send the phone in and often receive their money in as little as seven days.
Littlewoods is one of the leading retailers of cellular phones in the UK and contribute to the mobile phone waste phenomenon as they encourage customers to continually upgrade their phone to take advantage of technological advances and new handsets. The partnership with MPX not only makes upgrading phones more affordable for Littlewoods customers, it is also more environmentally friendly.
MPX Managing Director Geoff Walters stated, “We are delighted with our trade in partnership with Littlewoods. This innovative approach to re-using old handsets creates new value for both Littlewoods and their customers. It’s a real WIN WIN scenario.”
