Not everybody in the United States recycles, and not everybody cares. However, continuing the path of not recycling products that can be reused is dangerous, not only to the earth, but to ourselves also. This is why many people believe that the government should give its people a financial incentive and reward for recycling certain things instead of throwing them in the garbage.
The financial incentives are things that will be giving back to the community. This includes things like money to improve the lighting on the streets at night and equipment for children to use in the local parks. If we are helping to better the environment by recycling, should we not get something in return?
Having these incentives may also help people to care about the environment if they currently do not. Anyone who is upset that their community is not so great to live in will not care too much about anything that happens around it. Sometimes the only way to get their attention is to do something for them, like make the community better. This will get them interested in what they can do to help, because they are going to want to help improve their community’s living accommodations and facilities too.
All of these things are what some people in the United States are hoping for from their government. Should the government give in and give the people what they want? This decision could either make recycling something that people will want to do more or it will remain the same that is now.
