GD Environmental has invested approximately one and a half million pounds at its Newport site.
This will lead to a rise in efficiency at the facility where ninety per cent of all waste collected undergoes recycling.
Putting in one and half million pounds has earned GD Environmental a frontline place in Wales concerning the recycling endeavours of industrial, commercial and domestic waste. Fifteen new employment opportunities have also been created with the expansion of the recycling facility.
The Managing Director of GD Environmental, James Norvill is of the view that for the recycling firm to meet the needs of their increasing client portfolio in the United Kingdom as well as Europe, the firm needs to continuously put money into new staff, motor vehicles, machines and equipment.
GD Environmental’s initial investment of one and a half million pounds rose by a hundred and thirty thousand pounds when they purchased a Komatsu wheeled loading shovel worth that amount for its Newport waste transfer site.
GD Environmental was set up in 2004 when Marine and Industrial Services merged with Gwent Drain Services. The firm has since then been expanding at the rate of three hundred and seven per cent annually. The recycling company now has over four hundred regular clients.
The Managing Director of GD Environmental explained that the Komatsu wheeled loading shovel was bought to raise the speed with which they transfer materials around their waste transfer site. This would consequently raise the rate of recycling of the skipped waste of their customers. He added that the Komatsu wheeled loading shovel collects diverse types of waste on the 2-acre location before transferring the waste to various recycling bins for processing.
