Less than four weeks since an arson attack caused massive destruction to their premises, businesswoman Vikki Jackson-Smith is undeterred and plans on expanding her company.
Machinery worth thousands of pounds was destroyed when arsonists struck at the J&B Recycling plant located along Baltic Street in Hartlepool. The machinery that was destroyed included a mechanical baler, 2 loading shovels and 2 picking lines. The police and fire chiefs are still conduction investigations on the matter.
The arson attack however could not deter the thirty six-year-old Vikki Jackson-Smith who a decade ago took over from her father what was then a solid fuel company. In its employ are a hundred people and the managing director who attended Brinkburn School is planning to increase the capacity of the plant as soon as they purchase a new site.
She is quoted as saying that the construction work at the new site was in progress and that would enable them double their capacity. She exuded confidence saying that even with the fire attack they were thrilled about the new developments and were looking forward to growing the business and carrying on with the provision of recycling and waste management services to both public and private outfits all over the North East.
When Vikki started running the business it was a solid fuel company. She however decided to branch out from coal supplying into recycling and waste management.
She vowed that the arson attack would not stop her from accomplishing the business goals she had set. She also revealed that the fire has not led to loss of business.
