New Crusher Will Make it Easier To Recycle at Night Spots

Shropshire firm Agritel has been appointed as the sole UK distributor for a glass bottle crushing machine that will make it easier to recycle at bars, night clubs, hotels and restaurants.

The Agri-mac BC bottle crusher can be purchased, rented or leased from £25 per week. It runs off standard 240v electricity and accepts all sizes, colours and shapes of bottles according to Oswestry-based Agritel. Agritel supplies industrial packaging, business stationery and pallet wrappers as well as recycling equipment to companies in the Wales and West Midlands regions. The machine can crush up to 60 small lager bottles in a minute. This amounts to two tonnes per hour.

John Morgan, sales director at Agritel commented: “Some bars and clubs are paying up to £300 a month for their glass to be collected. As a result of crushing bottles into 12mm cullets, the Agri-mac provides an 85% reduction in the volume of glass to be stored prior to collection. Where collections are charged by volume as opposed to weight, these significant cost and space savings have already generated a great deal of interest in the product.”
