A seminar is scheduled for next month that might lead to future developments in the production of cheap carpets manufactured using recycled materials.
The innovative new move from Carpet Recycling UK could see materials re-used to make cheap carpets available for purchase. The event was announced this week and will be held at the Harrogate Flooring Show from 11:00 to 12:00 BST beginning 6 September.
According to reports, the event will feature three presentations from industry experts and involve the topic matter ‘Carpet Recycling in the Future’, ‘Wool Recovery from Carpets’, and ‘Polypropylene Recovery from Carpets’. All of which can be improved to create sustainable materials for green households.
Polypropylene recovery is seen as a key process to developing ways to reuse material to recycle carpets and other flooring items. The chemical is particularly known for its stain-resistant properties. Cormar is currently manufacturing a number of items based in this chemical. These include carpets in a variety of colours that can protect against oil, ink and crayon stains as well as common beverage spills like red wine.
The newest carpet line from the popular carpet maker includes amber carpets such as the Twist Fawn, a series of blue ones known as Twist Marine, and a green line of recycled carpets called Twist Onyx.
