Samsung Telecommunications America and Sprint have joined together again to deliver a mobile handset that retains the green values that both mobile service providers have tried hard to uphold. The latest in a host of collaborations from the two companies, the Samsung Restore has been outfitted with Sprint’s award-winning One Click user interface.
Moreover, the mobile phone is eco-friendly with a balance of both technology and environmentally conscious design. The Samsung Restore is scheduled to hit shelves this summer and will be available at all Sprint retailers including online sites. Samsung Restore will come with a two-year service agreement with Sprint.
The Samsung Restore is the newest collaboration from the companies after their highly successful Samsung Reclaim that was announced last year. Both phones were designed using bio-plastic materials. Each mobile handset is fashioned out of 80 per cent recyclable materials. Just recently, the Samsung Reclaim earned the Best of Green: Best New Cell Phone Award from TreeHugger.com
Kevin Packingham, senior vice-president of Product Development at Sprint, said that the design qualifications of the Samsung Restore allow it to qualify for Sprint’s Eco-Logo. He added that the mobile device complements Sprint’s commitment to leading the industry in environmental responsibility.
Omar Khan, Samsung Mobile’s chief strategy officer, said that the Samsung Restore was designed in the wake of Samsung Reclaim’s widespread success. He added that Restore mirrors Samsung’s commitment to becoming an eco-friendly mobile phone company.
