New Reno recycling centre brings 60 new jobs to the area

A new recycling processing centre will bring with it 60 new jobs when it opens in Reno later this year. The national electronics recycler responsible for building the facility will also bring in a much needed boost in jobs for the local community.

Intechra, a major US-certified electronics recycler, already secured 34 new employees to begin working at its new West Coast recycling facility. The company confirmed that they hope to fill almost 60 positions by year’s end.

Brian Beinfest, Intechra general operations manager, said that the state of Nevada was business friendly, making it an ideal business choice for the company’s latest processing centre. He added that the location made more sense for the business.

Intechra is committed to helping reduce the amount of e-waste being sent to landfills around the US each year. The recycling company’s efforts have contributed to huge reductions in e-waste building up in US landfills. The company works with both the private and government sectors to offer recycling programmes which repair, recycle, and refurbish computers and hardware. The company also contracts to erase hard drives via their data security service.

With the latest arrival of the Reno processing facility, the Economic Development Authority in Western Nevada has said that Intechra will make up to $4.4 million in economic impact by bringing in new jobs and tax revenues for the region. The authority has included the projected $2 million as potential spending by Intechra employees.

Intechra will use Staffmark’s Reno office to handle all hiring for their newest processing centre. Currently available positions include receiving clerks, PC and notebook test operators and material handlers.
