Lancashire Community Recycling Network offer sustainable development grants

Members of the Lancashire Community Recycling Network (CRN) are being encouraged to apply for grants to help increase their existing eco-credentials. The grant, which encompasses a £15,000 award for green projects, would be a one-off which relevant groups can apply for.

The monetary award will be granted to the group with the best sustainable scheme which is designed to prevent waste from ending up at landfill. the CRN announced the funding opportunity at their annual Strengthen, Survive and Thrive conference. Applications will be accepted until the close of March.

Chairman of the Lancashire CRN Liz Tapner said that the CRN was thrilled to offer such an opportunity to the members in their community network. She added that the annual conference was the best platform to launch such a grant offer.

Dawn Welham, a Lancashire CRN co-ordinator, added that the award announcement followed a series of successful events so far this year, and that the conference was simply the icing on the cake. She continued saying that most groups seemed to leave the conference with fresh ideas, new information, and new contacts, as well as the opportunity for such an award.

Any Lancashire charity, group, or organisation is eligible to apply for the grant, but must become a member of CRN first. Interested parties can visit the Lancashire CRN website for an application and additional information.
