Nulife Glass Recycles Old Televisions

As the world tries to bounce back from the global recession there are many new industries which may provide countries a way to get out of this mess by creating jobs.  Green technology has become one of the fastest growing segments of the business world, as companies spring up to try and fill the needs created by new environmental regulations.  In the process, thousands of jobs have been created in the UK as new plants are being built and designed every day which take advantage of the newest and most innovative technology.  The recycling of electronic devices has risen to the forefront of this growth as the constant change in technology leaves a lot of used electronics laying around waiting to be recycled or dumped into landfills.

Recently more than thirty new jobs were created in Salford when a TV recycling plant chose Salford as the location for its newest plant.  Nulife Glass claims to be the first company in the world that is dedicated solely to the recycling of cathode ray television screens.  TV technology has come a long way over the last few years and as flat screen, plasma, and high definition TVs become the norm, these types of outdated screens often end up in landfills.  This is a major problem as these screens often contain soluble lead which can seep into landfills and eventually contaminated water supplies.

Nulife Glass has a technique that can separate the glass from the lead, and then both compounds can be reused.
