If there is one positive to come out of the problems with the environment it is that businesses, individuals, and organizations have come up with unique solutions to the problem. Even though most of the work has still yet to be accomplished, countries, local councils, and businesses are trying to do their part to make the world greener. Sony is one company that has launched many innovative schemes in a number of different areas. Not only are they heavily involved in campaigns to help raise the recycling rates for small electronic devices like mobile phones, but they have recently gotten involved in a scheme that aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling all types of materials.
To reinforce this green behavior what Sony is calling its farm fresh approach, the company has decided to find a positive use for all of their discarded banners. Sony is taking all of its cast off banners used for advertising into an array of custom made jeans, which not only keep these materials from reaching a landfill, but will raise money for various charities. Sony has turned the building in which the banners are made into a living advertisement for recycling. Over one hundred and twenty pairs of the brightly colored custom jeans are hanging on the side of the building and passersby can use supplied binoculars to pick out the pair that they want. Then a man will rappel down the side of the building and fetch the chosen pair. All of the proceeds from the sale of the jeans will go to World Heritage Sites.
