IBM Reveals New Green Technology

One of the fastest growing segments of the business world revolves around green technology as businesses try to cash in on the increasing desire of citizens to buy products and services that are environmentally friendly.  This has led to major companies investing in green technology which is being employed all over the world.  Mobile phone companies are making greener phones and encouraging recycling, care hire firms are offering electric options, and supermarkets are filling their shelves with products packaged in recycled material.  Recently IBM revealed technology that is not just aimed at individuals but entire cities.  The green innovations that they revealed aim to make cities greener and smarter by using some of the world’s most innovative technology.

IBM has revealed cars and buses that they claim will reduce the amount of carbon emissions by half.  The cars and city buses will run on smarter water systems that IBM say will reduce waste by nearly fifty percent.  This is just part of the green technology that IBM says will change the ways our cities operate over the next five years.  IBM is working hand and hand with cities like Manchester to employ the technologies that they are currently developing.   The revelations came as part of the Next Five in Five innovation predictions that IBM does annually.

The IBM laboratories are testing everything from telemetry to sensory technology that allows customers to trace the life cycle of their food from where it was produced all the way to the shelves of the grocery store.
