As the holiday season approaches companies are rolling out special bargains and promotions to try to draw more customers to their doors. One of the hot topics of 2009 has been the environment so it is only natural that green products are hot selling items. Companies are increasingly trying to appeal to the green minded consumer as environmental issues, coupled with the economy, have dominated the media over the last few months. Several mobile phone companies are using this opportunity to roll out greener more environmentally friendly phones, which use recycled parts and don’t run on harmful batteries. Mobile phone batteries are a major concern as they often leak into landfills which can eventually contaminate drinking water with harmful chemicals.
Samsung is one company that is using increased environmental awareness to release their green phone. In addition companies like Samsung have launched a variety of schemes to get customers to bring their old phone with them when they go to buy a new one. Some companies are even offering cash for old mobile phones as studies have shown that most effective way to get people to recycle is to offer incentives for their efforts. The Samsung Reclaim phone should be a pleasing offering for green minded customers as it uses almost entirely recycled parts and was recently a hit at a CTIA convention.
Samsung is offering the phone, which is valued at over one hundred and twenty dollars, for free when customers sign up for a two year service plan.
