Brits Going Dirty to get Greener

With the environment on the mind of the world people and businesses are looking for unique ways to make their industry or their home greener.  Some businesses have done environmental audits to see where they can get greener and households have done the same by looking for ways that they can reduce waste and increase recycling rates.  According to a recent study, people in the United Kingdom have resorted to what some would call dirty tricks to save money and to make themselves greener.  A survey of Brits ages eighteen to thirty revealed that young people have discovered some less than savory ways to make their lives greener.

Some Brits admitted that they go to drastic measures to save things like water and energy.  Some of the favorite ways to save money are to turn underwear inside out to save on wash, or for a family to share bathwater, and in some cases, couples sharing a shower.  When asked a resounding forty percent of those involved with the study said that the best way to help Mother Nature was to share a shower with their partner.  Some other tips included shunning the tumble dryer in favor of the radiator, reusing tea bags, and even using dirty socks as handkerchiefs.

Although most people know that drastic lifestyle changes are needed, the poll by EnviroFone showed that most people are more comfortable making small gestures that start in their own home.  EnviroFone was interested in seeing what ideas the younger generation was bringing to the table when it comes to the environment.
