Cartridge World Carbon Zero team fails to show at BTCC Silverstone

The group behind Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing, team CVR (Clyde Valley Racing), has announced that it has had to withdraw from the 2009 BTCC circuit due to circumstances beyond its control.

Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing entered BTCC this year as the only team in Europe to have a zero-carbon policy, running its cars on bio-ethanol fuels and highlighting its environmental efficiency while still performing well in stiff competition.

Although the team wasn’t able to score any victories this season, the team has posted 14 points finishes for Jones, from 18 starts; three for Shedden, from six starts; and three for Dan Eaves, who left Team CVR after the mid-season Croft meeting due to the lack of results up to that point.

These performances were sufficient to move Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing into a credible sixth position - both in team and independent team title standings – out of 15 and 14 entrants, respectively.

Unfortunately, the plug was pulled prematurely when the Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing team failed to show at Silverstone, shifting its focus to the 2010 season.
