Even with the credit crunch and the recession tightening travel spending, Carrentals.co.uk, a top car hire comparison website, has reported that it continues to grow, revealing first quarter revenues 50 per cent ahead of its targets and year-on-year revenue showing a rise of 30 per cent.
In the year to January of 2009, the company generated more than £16 million in car rental sales, and continues to grow its market share despite difficult trading conditions in the sector.
Gareth Robinson, the company’s managing director, commented: “Many travel companies are finding trading conditions tough at the moment. Those who are performing well and who will survive are the ones who are focused on offering customers the best choice and prices. We make it easy for visitors to compare rental prices from both leading providers and specialist companies. We keep it simple and user friendly, and we will continue to develop the site to ensure the best possible customer experience.”
Carrentals.co.uk was first launched in 2003, and recently has been the recipient of several awards, including Travolution’s 2008 Best Car Hire Website and the 2008/2009 Good Ski Guide’s Best Ski Car Rental Website.
The online firm compares offers from a number of top rental car companies including Alamo, Budget, EasyCar, Ebookers, Hertz, Holiday Autos, Opodo, Sixt, Thrifty – and their own prices. Site visitors can search and compare the deals offered before connecting with the supplier site to complete the booking process.
