In the third race at Thruxton, Adam Jones in his SEAT Leon finished second, giving Cartridge World Carbon Zero team its first BTCC podium placement.

Mat Jackson was the winner of the third race of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Hampshire’s Thruxton circuit – meaning a different winner in each of the first six races of the current season.

Former champion James Thompson placed third in the last race of the team in Team Dynamics’ Honda Civic.

Colin Turkington was the winner of the second race of the day. After Dan Eaves was sent into a heavy spin at the first corner of the first lap following contact with Nick Leason, the safety car was deployed. Once the safety car came in Turkington went on pass Neal and then got past Giovanardi on the last lap of the race.

In the day’s first race, Fabrizio Giovanardi led all the way from the pole position, claiming victory in his first win of this season.

The Italian led his Vauxhall team-mates Neal and Jordan in their Vectras, making the finish for the VX racing team a 1-2-3 result – for the first time in five years.
