Remanufacturers are More Than Just Resellers

Comparing a remanufacturer to an average reseller is much like comparing champagne to box wine. Both have their place, just not in the same room. Resellers are individuals or companies that buy product from a vendor and then sell it to you, the consumer. In many cases, the reseller never even touched the product. A remanufacturer, however, is much different. A remanufacturer either collects or buys empty ink cartridges for recycling. Extracts useful materials and then either refills the existing cartridge or regenerates the materials into a new cartridge. Remanufacturers are there every step from the way, from the buying or collection through to the quality control and packaging of the items.

Because the old cartridges come from brand name printers, the replacements are guaranteed to work just like a new cartridge.

The remanufacturing of ink cartridges means that the company is not replacing the plastic container and is thereby saving money. Most reputable companies pass those savings along to you, the consumer.

According to jobprofiles.org, there is also a vast difference in the activities of a reseller versus a manufacturer. For example, a remanufacturer can expect to face daily duties such as these:

-Introducing businesses and groups in the community to the concept of remanufacturing printer cartridges.

-Traveling to schools, businesses and groups to collect old printer cartridges, counting the returned cartridges and issuing payments.

-Sending the old cartridges off for remanufacturing or completing the remanufacturing process.

-Processing orders including packaging, labeling, billing and shipping orders.

-Handling customer complaints, answering questions and promoting the recycled cartridges.
