Recycle Sanyo Mobile Recycling Program

In a survey conducted among cell phone users it was determined that only a small percentage of users recycled their mobile phones when they are no longer being used. The main reason given for not recycling is that they were not aware that these programs even existed. Over the last few years the number of mobile phones that are being recycled has increased but there are still tens of thousands of phones disposed of in improper ways.

Since 2001 the Sanyo Corporation has been one of the industry leaders in terms of mobile phone recycling programs. Beginning with the Mail Back Recycling Program, Sanyo became one of the foremost authorities of the early mobile phone recycling projects. As one of the founding corporations of the Portable Rechargeable Battery Association (PRBA), Sanyo was in a position to actively promote the recycling of mobile phones, chargers, and other accessories.

Today the Sanyo recycling program is managed by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Company which is the industry leader in collection and recycling. With the Charge Up to Recycle Program, Sanyo and the RBRC have set up thousands of drop off locations nationwide. These drop-off locations accept mobile devices from all manufacturers in addition to any Nickel Metal hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion) and Small Sealed Lead Acid (Pb) rechargeable batteries like the ones you might find in your cordless phone or battery operated power tools.
