Recycling your old Motorola Mobile Phones

Talk about mobile phone manufacturers and one name that comes to mind is Motorola. Known for their slim phones such as the Razr, Slvr, and Krzr, Motorola is one of the industries top providers of wireless devices. This is a company that has proven their commitment to helping eliminate electronic waste. Beginning by using green energy when possible during the manufacturing stages, Motorola has gone one step further by creating their own mobile phone recycling program to educate consumers about the importance ofrecycling mobile phones.

Motorola’s Race to Recycle program allows schools to collect mobile phones that are no longer in use and send them in for rewards. When the phones are returned to Motorola they are checked to determine if certain pieces can be reused. These recycled pieces go toward repairing phones and toward the refurbishment of other phones. In the event that the phone cannot be repaired or cannot be reused Motorola will dispose of them in accordance with national recycling laws.

Schools who wish to participate in this program can log onto Motorola’s website for more information and obtain an information packet. Motorola will even provide participating schools with the materials needed to safely ship the old phones back to the company.

If you aren’t able to participate in the Race to Recycle program in your area you can still drop off your Motorola mobile phone at any approved mobile phone recycling centre or mobile phone recycling bin. Remember it’s not just phones that are accepted, some programs will accept other electronic devices as well.
