Hewlett Packard, more commonly known as HP is one of only a handful of mobile device manufacturers that provide in house recycling services. The HP Recycle program allows customers who live in California and have purchased an HP mobile device to return their phones to HP for recycling. By following the easy steps provided on the HP website a consumer can rest assured knowing that their phone will be properly disposed of in accordance to federal legislation. The only thing that HP requires is for you to enter your information into their secure server in order to print a mailing label for your mobile phone recycling package.

If you live outside of California and still want recycle your mobile phone you have several options to choose from. The first of these options is to locate a local charity that might be looking for used mobile phones for their cause. If your phone is still in working order and in good condition it should be accepted without any problem. Secondly you can drop your phone in any cellular donation site container. You can find these in many retail locations. Finally you may be able to recycle your phone for cash by using an online retailer who will accept your phone and pay you a small fee. You may also be able to recycle your mobile by selling it in an online auction. Even if it doesn’t work properly you can still sale it for parts.
