East Dunbartonshire believes recycling, reusing and reducing is an environmentally friendly action all residents can participate in. Reports show about 70 percent of all household waste can easily be recycled, so they encourage residents and businesses to join efforts and work together to make our city and country greener and cleaner.
Recycling and reusing starts with collecting everyday items such as cans, tins, plastic items and paper goods. Kerbside collection makes it easy to recycle; just use the recycling bins we provide and follow the collection schedule for pick up.
East Dunbartonshire offers 28 recycling points and centres throughout the city. To locate a point or centre near your neighbourhood, visit the website for directions. Each of the locations are open daily but specific hours are available on the website as well.
Most centres accept household waste items such as glass, tin and cans, paper items, and textiles but detailed list are available online. Garden waste, household appliances and electronics can also be dropped off at many locations.
A new recycling centre is available at Mavis Valley that allows residents to recycle even more household waste.
Kerbside collection is scheduled on a rotating schedule by neighbourhood. Residents should have recycling bins kerbside by 7 am on collection day. Exact schedules for your neighbourhood are available at our website. We also offer a special lift service upon request for heavy or bulky household goods.
