Recycle Waste Tewkesbury Borough Council Recycling Program

Tewkesbury Borough Council provides a kerbside recycling service to the residents in Tewkesbury.  The service runs on a fortnightly basis, and the recycling boxes are to be placed at kerbside by 6am on the collection day.  The one thing that is different about Tewkesbury Borough Council’s kerbside service from most other authorities is that there is a charge of £3.50 for each box that you order.  A maximum of three boxes can be purchased from Tewkesbury Borough Council by phone or mail.  The boxes will then be delivered to you within one week of your order date.

There are many different recyclable items that can be placed in this box to be collected.  Paper products are one of them, which include magazines and newspapers, white envelopes and office paper, brown envelopes and paper bags, brochures and catalogues, yellow pages and telephone directories, as well as glossy paper inserts and leaflets.  Metal products can be placed in this box too, which include food and drink tins/cans, pet food tins/cans, and aerosols with the nozzles and lids removed.  Additionally, glass jars and bottles that have been stripped of their labels, caps, and have been rinsed are to be put into the box as well.

Garden waste is also collected by Tewkesbury Borough Council, which was a scheme introduced in March 2006.  The service has prevented more than 10,000 tonnes of compostable waste from being sent to the landfill.  The scheme, however, is available by subscription only, which costs £30 per year, where you will be given a brown wheeled bin to put the garden waste in.
