Recycle Waste Telford & Wrekin Council Recycling Program

Telford & Wrekin Council is known for managing waste. The council can cater about 86,000 tonnes of waste every year, with more than a tonne of waste in every household.  Last year, in June 2005, the council implemented a new program, Waste Management Strategy 2005-2021 From Waste to Resource.

This program looks over the waste of the Borough in the near future. The council maximizes recycling in order to reduce the amount of waste that they have disposed of.
Aside from that, the council’s program is proposing that of the amount of waste that they send to the landfill should be done through alternative disposal methods.

They have proposed this alternative, because with it, they can ensure that they can save natural resources and also reduce the impact of the waste being produced by the Borough.  Regarding this process, there are about three companies involved here, which are the TEC Consortium, Focsa Services (UK) Ltd and lastly, the Interserve Project services UK Ltd.

The council is accountable for the “Recycling and Rubbish Collections from Household”-this means that they are also responsible for Recycling and Green Waste Collections, Rubbish Collections, Clinical Waste Collections, and Bulky Waste Collections. The council is also responsible of managing and developing the Community Recycling Centers or CRC’s, operating the Bring Banks, Waste Minimisation, and Providing Information on Recycling.
