For movie lovers, they have collections of video tapes of their favorite movies. But ever since CDs and DVDs came into the picture, these video tapes hve become less and less popular, especially now that old movies are now transferable to CDs and DVDs.
How To Recycle Video Tapes
In most homes, old video tapes are stored away where they gather dust. There are also some homeowners who get rid of these video tapes by simply throwing them away, which, sooner or later, end up in landfills. But what can one do to minimize the impact these discarded video tapes can do to the environment?
There is always the option of recycling video tapes. If you surf the Internet, you will see companies that accept them. What they do with these is that they separate the components. The hard plastic cases are crushed into tiny fragments, melted, and then recycled to be used in the production of various products. The cardboard inserts that are found in the video tape cases are also recycled, and any metal component of the video tape is recyclable as well.
