Recycle timber with information on recycling timber | Timber recylcing

Recycled Timber Is Vital

Before recycling timber became popular, timbers from old buildings and old houses that were torn down were transported to the sea aboard barges. There, they were set alight. This was the old method of disposing of old timbers then. But now that people are much more aware of the impact of fire to the environment, setting fire to discarded timbers are no longer advocated. In fact, there are companies right now that offer to purchase old timbers and recycle them.

What they do is they go to the site of the demolition of an edifice - be it an old building, bridge, warehouse, mill, etc, and painstakingly take down the timbers so as not to harm the wood further. Once they have recovered all the timbers that can be recycled, they then do the meticulous removal of nails, bolts, and screws that were lodged into the timber. Of course, not all the timbers that they have recovered are usable. They only recycle those big enough to be created into a new product. Plus, they also only recycle those timbers that are not too damaged.

The recycled timbers can then be turned into wideboard flooring, and because these timbers are old with a distinctive characteristic of their own, they can add beauty to any room. Recycled timbers can also be used as fencing. They can also be used in the construction of sheds and cubby houses. For those old timbers that are damaged and are not suitable for those above, they can then be created into crates and boxes.
