How To Recycle DVDs
Old and discarded DVDs almost always end up in the bin, and the contents of these trash containers are dumped in landfills. DVDs, right now, are becoming a huge problem for environmentalists because not only do they take up a lot of space in landfills but they also take a very, very long time to decompose, and we are not talking ten years or even twenty but a lot lot longer. Manufacturing DVDs need a lot of natural resources and raw materials, and these cost a lot of money. To save on natural resources and money, environmentalists and many companies are now promoting that these discarded DVDs should be disposed of properly and not just dumped in landfills. There are many companies now that accept these old DVDs. You can send them through the postal services or other couriers. What these companies then do is to resell them if the DVDs you sent them is still usable. The money these companies receive for the resold DVDs are given to local charity funds. With this method, not only have you helped the environment but you also get to help donate some needed funds to charities.
If, on the other hand, the DVDs are completely useless, these are then re-used. What this means is that the old DVDs are recycled. Since DVDs are composed of aluminum and polycarbonate plastic, these components are separated and taken out through processes. These then are used once more on things that will need them like alarm boxes or traffic lenses.
