Newspapers are something that we get weekly, daily even, to read about what is happening to our society as well as around the world. And because people always need to read about the current news and events, there is the need then to print newspapers by the hundreds of thousands or more in order to meet the demands of their subscribers. Now, if these newspaper companies always make use of raw materials for the production of their paper, then it would mean tons and tons of trees chopped down, made into pulp, and then finally paper. This would then spell disaster for our environment because we need trees to have a healthy and stable atmosphere. To allay the need for natural resources, companies urge their subscribers to send them back the old newspapers to be recycled. Some companies will even purchase these old newspapers per kilo to save on money that would otherwise be needed to spend for the procurement of raw materials.
Now, these old newspapers are put through the process of separating the fibers of the paper from the ink. The fibers are then mashed until they become pulps, into which wood chip pulps are also added to give strength to it. The mixture is then transferred into screens where they are allowed to drain. They are then pressed flat to create an even surface and then dried to make the paper.
Recycled newspapers are then created into papers that are to be used on newsprints. They can also be remade into wrapping papers or molded flowerpots.
