Why do you think Recycling is Important ?

Recycling is important for many people in many ways, and not just the people,the planet too. It stops a lot of waste just being thrown away randomly, and causing more harm than it does good. Having this site also helps others, and the people who spend a few moments to advertise their items on Recycle.co.uk are helping themselves, others, and our planet all at once. If more people saw the benefits of recycling, then in years to come, there would be a lot less pollution, and the world would be a much better place, not only for ourselves, but our children too!!!

I think recycling is not only important for the environment, but recycling your unwanted items really helps families who are in need. I have recently been given a washing machine from a member of this site and this was very badly needed due to ours blowing up a few weeks beforehand. We are a family of four (two boys aged 6 and 12) and going to the launderette all the time was extremely hard and buying a new machine right before christmas was not an option. Well - you try telling the kids that Santa isn't coming because mummy needed a new washer....!

The member i got this washing machine off really is a life-saver and when we have things to recycle, we will put them on here from now on. I have told lots of people about your site and they all agree what a cracking idea it is.

So - recycling is important not only for the environment, but also for families and the community. Thank you!

Recycling is important because it reduces the amount of rubbish placed in landfill sites, reduces the cost of disposing the rubbish, helps to protect the environment and it can also help to save energy.

We always hear so much about recycling, but some councils make it so difficult for us to recycle items-where I live, the refuse collectors haven't collected the 'Garden Waste' bag for over 2 months. Also, the council doesn't supply recycling bags-to private residences or to schools. If it were made easier, I'm sure more people would be happy to recycle, as we all want to keep the earth in the best shape possible!! We have chosen to reduce the amount of waste we have by unsubscribing to mailing companies so they don't send us junk mail. We also reuse our items-such as refilling water bottles & using 'Bags for Life'. We have also begun to repair items, in attempt to help us to stop throwing more things away. So although recycling is important, there are also many other ways in which we can help to save our planet.

Recycling is very important, as it is terrible that a big chunk of our rubbish ends up in landfill. Not only that, by re-using many items of packaging we are putting less strain on the enviroment. I think an area that needs closer attention is business recycling, as in our case we are a large town hotel and the amount of money company's want to charge for a recycling scheme is outragous, In addition the council insist you must provide access to the public to recycle when this simply wouldnt be possible. Surely local council's should want businesses such as ours to be more "green" and keep costs down to a minimum after all we all pay for local services. bottom line is we (our business) want to recycle but its unaffordable at present so the vast majority goes with the bin men sadly.

Recycling isn't important, it's crucial. It's the butterfly effect of the thing. You might not feel your small-scale home recycling is doing much good but imagine if everyone on your street thought that and didn't bother, that'd be a couple of skips worth, at least, wouldn't it! How tiny is a grain of sand and how big the beach. We can make a difference together.

We need to recycle to save the world from increasing ruin which will result in everlasting disaster. help save it now, its everyones responsibility

I believe recycling is not just important, its our responsability.
We only have one world and we havent looked after it enough, so now by recycling we can make it a better place for our children and our following generations.
It doesnt take much to do but makes a BIG difference
