D: Recycle Disposable Nappies?
I saw a programme last year from Holland which shows that they recycle all their disposable nappies and reuse all of the waste product. Plastic from the nappies is used for guttering and plastic products. The nappy cotton material is cleaned and used elsewhere too. Nothing is wasted. I can therefore not understand why all countries are not doing this including ours. Obviously, the first port of call is to try and get everyone to use reusable but that isn't going to happen so surely this would be an answer to our landfill sites.
Does anyone know why this is not a viable solution to our disposable nappy problem here? Obviously cost is a factor but the government have thrown millions to recycling schemes so I'm sure this is not the answer.
Appreciate your views on this one - anyone in the recycling industry who knows the answer?
