Computer Recycling with NEC Laptop Recycling

NEC computers are often used by corporations rather than individuals. Of course over time it becomes necessary to upgrade equipment for newer devices with faster processors and more memory. Understanding the need to responsibly dispose of older devices the NEC Corporation has introduced a plan to help with IT recycling.

The service known as UltraClean will accept laptop computers along with other computer peripherals from all manufacturers. Companies must simply contact NEC to arrange pick up and disposal services. In order to take advantage of the program a company must have at least 50 units to dispose of. Upon removal of the electronic waste NEC will ensure that all devices are disposed of in accordance with EU guidelines.

Besides the NEC UltraClean program there are a variety of ways to dispose of your electronic waste. In most European communities specialized recycling schemes are set up to accept electronic waste through either kerbside collection or through the use of a centrally located recycling bank. In some cases these services will only accept laptop batteries but in others they will take the entire computer. In addition to this option some businesses may offer to sell older devices to their employees at a reduced price. For the individual donating a device or selling it online through an auction site is also an option. If none of these services are available in your community you can always send your laptop back through one of NEC’s competitors who offer in house recycling take back programs.
