OQO is the worlds smallest fully function computer and is branded as a subnotebook. With it comes the responsibility just like any other electronics manufacturer to use laptop recycling to dispose of it when you want to get the latest model. This PC is just a bit bigger than a PDA and runs a full operating system on it and offers pen functionality like a PDA. The OQO is part of the WEEE directive and also aims to reduce electronic waste or e-waste just like the other major corporations.
The global warming problem that is affecting the world is caused by a large amount of carbon dioxide that is in the atmosphere. It also provides the companies with recycled plastics and glass that are used to make the new products.
OQO is one of the newest on the scene in terms of product manufacture and they have to take a stance in the environmental side of things like showing that they care about saving the planet. With laptop recycling, they can also include product manufacture from recycled goods, energy efficient design and manufacture and other methods of reducing their footprint.
